FIELD
Support & privacy
For Field on Apple Watch and its iPhone companion.
Support
Contact Cameron Sutcliff at cameron@cameronsutcliff.com. Include your watch model, software version, and what happened. Please avoid sending health readings or precise location unless needed to explain your question.
Getting started
Install Field on Apple Watch, open it, and allow location and motion access. Choose units and compass reference on the watch or in the iPhone companion. Tap the source line at the bottom of the watch dashboard to open details and refresh weather.
Live heart rate
Tap the heart-rate area, select Start live heart rate, and allow the requested Health access. End any other workout first. Field uses a workout session to request live pulse readings. Monitoring continues with your wrist down until you tap Stop and uses extra battery. watchOS may record Health and Activity samples. Field does not save a completed workout.
If readings are unavailable, check Health permissions and wear the watch snugly. Field hides old readings rather than presenting them as live. Heart rate is for personal fitness awareness, not medical diagnosis.
Weather and compass
Weather requires a network connection and location access. Wind and temperature come from Apple Weather, not sensors on your wrist. Cached conditions are marked when old. The compass runs in the app; complications display cached information and open Field. Do not rely on Field as your sole navigation or safety tool.

Privacy policy
Field is provided by Cameron Sutcliff. It does not require a Field account, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or send health readings to the developer. Field does not sell personal data or use Health data for advertising.
Location and weather
With your permission, Field uses location for local weather and geographic altitude, and watch sensors for heading and optional local pressure. Your location is sent directly to Apple through WeatherKit to retrieve conditions and forecasts. Apple processes these requests under its own policies. Field stores the latest weather snapshot, including its location and timestamps, locally on your watch so the app and complications can show cached conditions. The developer does not receive this data.
Heart rate and Health
Live monitoring is optional and begins only after you select Start and grant the required Health permissions. Field reads fresh heart-rate samples during the active session and holds readings in memory. It clears its readings when monitoring stops. Field does not upload readings, maintain a heart-rate history, or save a completed workout. The workout-session mode may cause watchOS to record samples in Health and Activity independently of Field. Those records remain subject to your Apple Health settings.
Settings and retention
Display preferences are stored on your devices and can sync between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity service. The latest weather cache is replaced when new conditions are fetched. You can remove Field's local app data by deleting the app from the relevant devices. Deleting Field does not remove records that watchOS has already added to Health or Activity.
Your controls
You can stop live monitoring inside Field and revoke Health, location, or motion access through Apple device settings. You can review and delete Health data using Apple's Health controls. Denying permission may make the related feature unavailable; the app shows missing data rather than inventing readings.
